Board Members > Wanda J. Jordan Biography
Ms. Jordan has worked for several non-profit agencies including Family and Children’s Service, Crittenton Services, Martha O’Bryan Center, and the YWCA in the Domestic Violence program. She has also worked in the private and public service sector with the State of Tennessee, Dept. of Human Services, State Dept. of Vocational Education and Centerstone Mental Health Services. Mrs. Jordan is very active in the community. In addition to her current board position at I.. C. Whitestone, she has volunteered for Girl Scouts of America, Boy Scouts of America, the Black Family Life Center and the Salvation Army. She is a member of the Missionaries of Grace or Roger Heights Baptist Church (providing services to youth in the community). She is currently a field instructor for Tennessee State University Social Work Program. Mrs. Jordan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Tennessee State University where she served as the president of the Alpha Delta Mu Honor Society. Mrs. Jordan has two adult daughters and two grandchildren In September 2006, an amphitheatre was named in her honor at Cora Howe Elementary School for her 9 years of dedicated service to the school and the community.
